Description of the Journal
The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine (Iraqi J. Vet. Med.) is issued by the College of Veterinary Medicine, University of Baghdad. The journal was established in 1977 and its first issue was published in the same year. By that time, the journal was the first leading-edge scientific veterinary journal launched to develop the veterinary profession in Iraq. Since that time, the journal has been publishing biannually (one volume with two issues) original research papers, review papers, and case reports in various veterinary specialties. In 1985, The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine was registered in the National Library of Baghdad under the registration number 322, 1985, and obtained P-ISSN 1609-5693. As of January 2005, The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine is an international open-access journal with E-ISSN 2410-7409, encouraging authors to publish their research and make them immediately, permanently, and freely accessible worldwide while keeping the copyright to their work. All papers published in the journal are under the license of Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC-BY 4). Up to 2015, the journal published articles in Arabic and English, after then, articles only written in English with Arabic abstracts are accepted. To date (June 2021), The Iraqi Journal of Veterinary Medicine has issued 45 volumes with 64 issues including 582 articles in Arabic and 375 in English.
